Testing Services
The Fastener Quality Act (FQA) became law on December 5, 1999. This federal
law is intended to provide users with the assurance that certain types
of fasteners meet or exceed stated specifications.
Fasteners covered
under the law include bolts, nuts, screws, studs, and load indicating
washers. External threaded fasteners that have a
nominal diameter of M6 (.250 inches) or greater and require grade markings
are included. The testing of these fasteners must be done in a laboratory
accredited by the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST)
or by an
organization approved by NIST.
Within our scope,
Leland Powell can provide an independent, third party testing service
for your needs. We can check to insure your fasteners meet print specifications
and other testing criteria.
